Happy Birthday Nina

Happy Birthday Nina! 11 years ago today I brought home a tiny kitten that was no bigger than a sock from the Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter (CCLAS). Now my baby's all grown up, but I can't say at all independent, she's about as needy as they come but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Nina and Spooky were instant best friends. Or maybe they better wording is Spooky patiently tolerated Nina's kitten craziness. Nina looked up to Spooky, followed her around and imitated her actions. Sadly Spooky passed away a few years ago.

We now have a younger black cat Elvis, though by looking at his size you wouldn't think he was half her age, who ironically follows her around and imitates her actions. Too bad she is not as tolerant to him as Spooky was to her.

Today her only plans are to sit on my lap with the electric blanket on. But that's OK because it's your birthday baby and you can do whatever you want today!

Vacation!

I'm finally on vacation! I'm off from the library until the first Wednesday in November. Granted, this is not the joyous vacation I imagined taking since there is no longer a wedding or honeymoon this year. Which I can't lie, depresses me greatly. But I plan on still trying to enjoy myself for the next two and a half  weeks by getting lots of to-do projects around the house done. But first I must tackle this huge pile of books!

Jack Fattington Cat Pincushion!

Hello all! Good grief it seems like I just keep getting sick! I've caught 3 different bugs in the last month and a half. Not acceptable at all. So I haven't had a chance to do all the fun projects I've got planned for myself. Good news is I only have another week of work and then I'm on vacation for TWO AND A HALF WEEKS!!! I've never been so happy in my life! I better get lots done in that time! But...at least I got one new Fat Cat Pincushion done.

Meet Jack Fattington!

He's made from felt and is stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He's made from my own patterns and stands approximately 5.5 inches (14 cms) tall and measures approximately 11 inches (28 cms) around the belly.

If you'd like to see him in my Etsy shop, click HERE!

Still to come: Sally and a zombie girl fat cat pincushion and lots of Halloween stuff!

Come on vacation, you can't come fast enough!
